The past two weeks we’ve removed a lot of overgrown material off of the parking lot and curb areas under the West Seattle Bridge. There’s still much more where that came from, as well as accumulated dirt that sits down there. We’ll continue removing the brambles, butterfly bush, and other weeds, and I’ll bring wheelbarrows and shovels to scrape the concrete and relocate the dirt down there too to try and prevent new growth this coming year.

I’m in chats with Nucor to see if we can find a solution to removing all the scraped and collected dirt at the end of this series to make it a lot harder for volunteer plants to get a foothold in down there this coming year.

Parking & Meet-Up
There is parking under the bridge just east of Avalon Way and Harbor Ave. As you turn east under the bridge like you were headed to the lower bridge, take the first available left at the bottom of the parking lot and head west on Spokane and then turn into the top of the lot, You’ll see the van in the top of the parking lot and we’ll start our work from there.
