A Cleaner Alki is a project focused community cleanup group based in West Seattle. We strive to be a welcoming place for neighbors to plug into whenever their schedules align—with familiar and meaningful community service. We work weekly with Seattle Parks & Rec, Seattle Dept. or Transportation, and city Forest Stewards. We compliment these weekly events with special member projects around town, as well as corporate events and support local schools and neighborhood groups.
In Chinook jargon, “Alki” means “By and By”, this is the vision of our cleanup movement—that over time, through consistency and fellowship we can help create a cleaner, safer and more connected community in which to live.
We strive to make a difference throughout Seattle neighborhoods with daily cleanup opportunities. Explore our Group Events, a self-led Block Drop, or both!
Join like-minded neighbors seeking to create a culture of environmental stewardship in the Pacific Northwest. Building community through purposeful action and fellowship — A Cleaner Alki (By and By).

With Gratitude
We acknowledge that we live on the ancestral lands of the Puget Salish, the Duwamish and Suquamish tribes, the First People of Seattle.
They valued, watched over and stewarded the lands and waterways we now live on and seek to care for. Our work is to honor the land itself and Indigenous Peoples everywhere.

We’ll head back to South Park to Spruce a traffic triangle at the convergence of S. Southern St., Dallas Ave. S., and 10th Ave. S. It’s in a very cool little residential neighborhood, just several blocks west behind South Park Plaza. There’s lots of ivy, blackberry, and weeds to attack, some pruning to do, and curb scraping. Hopefully we’ll get it all cleaned up and be able to spread some mulch as well.
