Hey Team, we'll be participating in next month's Joiner Jamboree. This is a two day event that will include a Friday screening hosted in collaboration with the Meaningful Movies Project of Join or Die, a documentary based on the research of Robert Putnam, author of Bowling Alone. The documentary examines the value of building community and creating Social Capital within a connected community. I think this is something many of us are finding doing our work with A Cleaner Alki, and other groups we are members of within the West Seattle.

Saturday will follow with the Joiner Jamboree at St. John the Baptist church in West Seattle, from 11am-3pm, where organizations in the community will set up info tables for neighbors to find out how to get involved with our work. ACA will have a table and we'd love any members to come out and be part of the fun. I think this will be an amazing opportunity to welcome more neighbors to join our work.
