We were invited to host a table at Vashon High School’s Community Service Fair this year. Each year VHS students are required to complete a minimum of 25 hours of community service with a regional non-profit. We got connected with VHS through Lewis, our Youth Ambassador over the summer, who donated his time towards ACA work for the years he was a Vashon student. Many students who go to VHS are West Seattleites, so these are probably the folks we’d be chatting with.
We’ll have a table there from 9:30-11am, I’ll have a little slideshow going on the laptop, business cards for the kids to take, and each class will cycle through in 20 minute increments. We likely don’t need a huge showing of folks, but I thought this could be a fun field trip for anyone who’d like to join—and then afterwards we could pick a park or a junction area to cleanup for an hour or so, grab some lunch, and then head back on the ferry.
To get to the high school by 9:15am, which is set-up time, I’ll probably take the 8:15am which will get us there early, and we can grab a coffee and snack before heading to the school.
Feel free to join for the Fair, the cleanup afterwards and lunch, or whatever mix you’d like to do :)
