A Cleaner Alki recently received a 3 year grant from Integral Charitable Foundation to help with our ongoing community work. This cleanup is the first with members of the Integral team, led by ACA member Nicole who originally nominated us for the Foundation’s grant. Thank you Nicole!

We’ll meet forest steward Heather Scott at her dead end entrance into Schmitz Park off Spokane St., and continue helping her dive into English ivy removal. We’ve made great progress there this past year with many large-scale ivy pulling events, and Heather is readying the area for new plants to go in the ground come November.

The entry point is on a dead end of SW Spokane Street, just east of 56th Ave SW and there are some decent parking opportunities at the end of the street as well as along Spokane Street.
