I recently onboarded with Green Seattle Partnership as a Forest Steward and took on a parcel in Schmitz Park. For those of you who were with us in January with Schmitz Park Creek Restore, part of this area is where we cleared the abandoned camp from the woods just up from the SW Stevens entrance, so it will be a really fun area to continue to clear and restore knowing what it once looked like. I also put in an order for native plants that we’ll be able to put in the ground in November.
So this visit will be an initial trip in and my first organized effort to scout and start removing invasives. It’s a really easy walk in from the bridge so park on either side and we’ll head in off Stevens St.
