Dirt Corps reached out to see if our ACA team would be interested in learning best practices for working out in parks and greenspaces. We’ll cover a range of topics in an indoor space (TBD) and then put this to practical use out in the woods in College Street Ravine. More details to come.
Topics covered: Plant ID, Noxious weeds: which ones are the priority and require reporting, Pruning: both for corridor and plant health, what time of year is best, when to determine a hazard tree that requires professional care, Tree care: mulching, watering, and resources like ChipDrop, Trail and corridor maintenance: when and who to call for hazard trees, how much to remove to create safe corridors, maintenance permits, etc. as well as some general stewardship topics like Seattle's Adopt A Drain program.
It would be great to have as many usual suspects join in as we can just to up our knowledge base.
